Tom Dixon is a British designer specializing in furniture design and creative director of his own eponymous firm, whose work encompasses iconic pieces that have been exhibited in museums, galleries and fairs and is inspired by his country's unique heritage.
Born in Tunisia in 1959 to a British father and French mother, Dixon moved with his family to London, United Kingdom, when he was 4 years old. He abandoned his art studies to play bass with a band called Funkapolitan and discovered his affinity for industrial design by chance, after suffering a traffic accident and trying to repair his motorcycle on his own, which led him to discover and learn there the welder. in 1983.

Stitch depicts defined monochromatic forms, which have been created through meticulous hand embroidered techniques. The curvature of the shapes and free flowing nature of the lines and stitch work produce a minimal aesthetic. The design is a process of reduction; by subtracting detail and simplifying form, the design becomes highly abstract.
